Industrial Rope Access(ARAA) level 1,2 or 3

Industrial rope access (or twin rope access) training AS4488 is designed to provide workers with the knowledge and skills to perform work while suspended in a vertical environment. Training covers risk assessment procedures, installation of anchor systems, abseiling skills, rope ascending and descending methods, work methods and positioning and rescue procedures. This 4 day course with a 5th day for assessments is suitable for any worker/company who will be required to conduct work such as maintenance or inspection whilst fuly suspended at height. Typical work scenarios are, high rise window cleaning, painting or maintenance, sign installation, work on bridges, powerstations, mines, cliffs, oil rigs etc

Training is designed to be realistic and enable you to work effectively at height.

Duration

Full course(multi site) is 4 days depending on the training venue and scope of skills required with a 5th day set aside for assessments.

Location

On the job or at a site that provides realistic workplace conditions. We have various buildings available to conduct realistic training througout SE Queensland and have training facilities available in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Equipment

We can supply all equipment necesaary form you to undertake training including Harnesses, ascenders, descenders etc etc Please contact your trainer direct to discuss your equipment requirements- We actively encourage you to bring along your own equipment.

Qualification

Successful trainees receive a Statement of Attainment for Working at Height(AS4488 Rope Suspension) which is recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework and an Industry qualification from ARAA (Australian Rope Access Association)

  • Installing solid and reliable anchor systems to AS 4488 requirements

  • Descending skills using twin rope techniques
  • Ascending skills using twin rope techniques

  • Loop Traverses
  • Using bosuns chairs (to avoid suspension trauma)
  • Diversion systems to redirect rope trajectories
  • Handling of work tools and equipment during Rope Access
  • Performing work tasks while supported by a rope suspension system

Enrolment

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Speak, read and understand the English language (unless accompanied by a skilled translator)
  • and be able to understand and accurately follow spoken instructions (which may be given quickly or in windy conditions); 
  • Fit and healthy for working at height
