Industrial Instructor Training

The instructor course is designed to develop your instructional skills. The course performance criteria are based on selected units from the training package for Assessment And Workplace Training.

Your instructor training consists of two distinct phases; 1) training and 2) assessment. The training phase is designed to develop your instructional skills and the Assessment phase is designed to assess if candidates have reached the required standard. Only a specially appointed PACI Instructor Assessor conducts the 'assessment phase'. The assessment phase is purely evaluative.

It is expected that instructor candidates will have relevant industry experience in their chosen fields. The course is tuned to a particular area of work. For example, if you normally work on towers then your lesson topics will be related to towers. Training is designed to be realistic and customised to suit your particular needs.

Instructor Training Process:

A two (2) day assessment occurs at the end of the training process. Instructor candidates are given a day off to prepare for their assessments. Lessons are allocated on the last day of the training phase so candidates have adequate time to rehearse and prepare for their assessment.

All candidates are assessed in the following areas:

  1. Classroom presentation (theory)
  2. Ground training presentation (prepare your students for height training)
  3. Height training presentation (practical skills training followed by assessment)
  4. Rescue skills assessment
  5. Knowledge assessment
