Elevated Work Platform

This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to descend from elevated work positions using abseiling skills. Training covers risk assessment techniques, selection of equipment, knots and anchors, rope management and descending methods.

Qualification:

Successful trainees receive a Statement of Attainment for Working at Height (EWP escape) which is recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. All training is mapped to unit MNMG237A Work safely at heights. Statement of attainment is nationally recognised.

Core Skills

  • Ability to prevent falls by using travel restraint
  • Fallen worker retrieval procedures
  • Selection of appropriate fall protection equipment suited for work in EWP’s
  • Using PPE correctly
  • Descending skills (to escape from EWP)

Enrolment

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Speak, read and understand the English language (unless accompanied by a skilled translator)
  • Possess current EWP licence or have access to a person who is licensed
  • Fit and healthy for working at height
